A background draft

I've written another character background intended for the second book. Can be found here: http://www.wattpad.com/story/16992713-character-background-draft-sena

Have to rewrite the Khaotixc character background, then write about 3-4 more things before I go out of my way to do yet another kickstarter to help raise funds to self publish.

Oh, the drudgery.

Well, thanks to reading Game of Thrones I am improving my writing style. On the bad side, now I have to go back into my book and... Modify some things. Aside from that I've been working on background stories for characters meant for the 2nd book. Two being based off friends of mine. I'd post more stuff, but I'm basically talking to myself. Nobody reads this. o_o

A small WARFRAME fanfic

This is the somewhat long version of the short I wrote on the official forums, for those who may want to see more.(Which I doubt, but you never know)

The Past Which Forges You

In deep meditation he sat, for hours a day. Complete silence. In deep reflection. In an attempt to salvage his past. His memories. That which was taken from him upon awakening in this day and age. Who was he? What was he? Was he simply a machine, who followed orders blindly for the sake of balance, and killed for said balance? Meditation proved fruitless, and so he turned elsewhere. The Corpus referred to his kind as The Betrayers, so they had known more about them than they know themselves. Rhino embarked on a journey of self-discovery, fueled only by his desire to regain that which was lost.

Taking the first flight to the Gas City upon Jupiter, he arrives at Jupiter in a moments time. It is here he hopes to discover something. They weren’t all too fond of his uninvited presence, and so blood had to be shed. Crewman after crewman lay upon the floor in an ever cooling pool of their own blood accompanied only by the machines they love oh so much. A message appeared in his HUD from an unknown source. “I have come to avenge the death of Tyl Regor. I am your retribution, your ultimate end. I shall return you to the abyss!” it said. It showed up in his HUD labeled STALKER. “Should I fail in my mission, I shall give you something of interest… You seek your past, do you not? I have coordinates that may be of use to you. But you must wrest them from me.”

In an explosion of black smoke, he emerged. A man clad in a Warframe resembling Excalibur’s. His helmet being much different however.  Silently they stared upon one another, their hands reaching for the hilts of their weapons. Unsheathing their weapons, they lunged towards one another, their weapons clashing violently upon each other’s with a brilliant display of sparks. Their weapons locked upon one another, and a contest of strength broke out between them. Weapons trembling in their hands, followed by pained grunts as they exerted their all. They were evenly matched. With a swift kick to the chest, Rhino manages to knock STALKER back giving him room to bring down his massive sword.

As the blade readied to hit its target, STALKER somersaulted backwards; the blade’s tip scraping against his chest damaging his shields slightly.  Throwing a smoke bomb onto the floor, the STALKER manages to conceal his presence. Rhino’s HUD began to malfunction, the corners glowing red violently as a flash of blue emerged in front of him. STALKER had used Excalibur’s Slash Dash, managing to rip through Rhino’s shield’s in a single blow.

Immediately following the attack, Rhino activated his Iron Skin. It had gone just as it had come followed by the words Your Tenno powers are useless! From his opponent. STALKER rushed him once more, his scythe swinging rapidly. With each blow, Rhino was sent stumbling backwards, while his shields depleted. Roaring defiantly, a reddish aura enveloped Rhino’s body as he charged into the STALKER. Rhino’s great girth managing to push his opponent into the shiny metal corpus wall causing it to dent in the process.  Before the STALKER could retaliate, Rhino reached for his BRAKK and unleashed a barrage of bullets upon him.

Electric crackles escaped the STALKER’s body with each shot. One after another, until the crackles were no more and were replaced with blood. Slowly his body slumped to the ground, blood pooling beneath his black and red frame. “I have failed… As promised, I shall give you what you seek. But be warned, some things should never be known. Knowing this, you will continue on even if it destroys you.” The STALKER mutters before disappearing in an explosion of black smoke.

The Lotus appeared on his HUD, her face a little less than pleasant to look at. “Tenno, do not heed the words of that assassin. The past is the past. Perhaps you have lost your memory for a reason. Leave it be, for it may simply be a trap.” She mutters in an attempt to dissuade him.

This was the first time she had ever tried to dissuade him from doing anything, as if she did not want him to learn the past.  Ignoring her suggestion he set off to where the coordinates led him.

They led to an Orokin Derelict. Entering the desolate ship, he was greeted by horrible fleshy overgrowth that covered the walls and floor. Tendrils of an unknown fleshy plant like material. A cacophony of feminine giggles rung in the desolate halls. The ship should be empty. What could it be? His threat detector beeps several times, and he was now being swarmed by Infested Chargers. Reaching for his Galatine, he meets them halfway while they poured of out a massive spinning door at the end of a long dark corridor. A single cleave manages to cut through five of them at once, bits of mutated flesh flying into the air alongside destroyed armor and limbs.  Before long he was knee deep in the disfigured corpses of his enemies.  At the very end of the corridor was a single Ancient Infested, who did nothing but stare at him. Returning the gaze, he reaches for his side arm; knowing full well the disrupting powers it possessed.

It didn’t seem hostile. Raising a mutated arm; it bade him to follow it. Warily, he followed after the creature. The feminine giggle echoed in the distance again, this time louder. Rhino had lost track of time following the creature. The creature led him to a vault. Slowly the door slid open, and with its descent was a heavy white fog that had escaped the vault. Inside was a cryopod upon a small golden altar, above it was a massive golden statue of an Excalibur; his hands appearing as if to embrace the pod.

This vault was familiar, he had been here before. But how long ago? A closer look at the cryopod revealed it was a Rhino Prime.  A powerful surge of pain wracked his body and forced him to his knees, his shields immediately draining in the process.  A torrent of memories began to pervade his mind. Ages ago, as part of a special program, each person who had returned from the void with their gifts were to be cloned and their original body sealed away. That was him within the pod. Or rather, was once him. That Rhino Prime was the first, and all others who existed were clones of the original.  He was nothing more than a clone, his existence felt pointless. He was not special, nor unique. But instead, a clone with the same abilities as the others.

Another surge of pain struck him, his spine had been severed, and his body went limp. That same feminine giggle returned, it was from the Ancient Infested who had brought him here. It had struck him, and it had ended his life.  His vision went black, and the abyss swallowed him. Later, after an unknown period of time… His sight returns, and he found himself within a cryopod. This cryopod was moved to a different location within the ship. It now sat upon a large chamber, atop a golden altar following a grand staircase.  There in front of the pod were hundreds of ancient infested that stood in several rows. In unison, each one raised their freakish mutated arms and saluted him. His HUD began to malfunction, static clouding his vision. Before him now were many of his own kind standing where the infested were.

Rhino had learned a terrible truth. The clones who did not enter stasis eventually degenerated into these creatures. Their power eventually corrupting their very existence and transforming them into unrecognizable abominations. Once more static disrupted his HUD, and the infested had returned. There at the foot of pod was his body. His old body. Along with his equipment. To regain that which he had lost, and sought after so long… He had paid the ultimate price. His old false life. The memories he regained had shown him something else, something darker… The Lotus was not what she seemed to be…

The Orokin had fought a war against The Sentients, these being AI who had been given human female bodies as hosts. This had been founded by an early government on earth. Eventually they turned against humanity, against the Orokin.  A full scale war had been waged, with the Orokin on the losing side. They were losing to their own creations. In a last ditch attempt, they turned to the void. An inhospitable area in space known to have erratic affects. They sent several ships to investigate, and perhaps provide some hope.

What returned was not what they expected. From the void, were ships filled with young men and women who had been gifted upon entering it. Some with the ability to manipulate the elements themselves. This was it, this was their ticket to defeating the Sentients. Each young man and woman who had returned from the void had an exoskeleton built upon them, that which would augment their abilities while providing sound protection from their enemies.

The Sentients controlled massive amounts of machinery, robotic abominations similar to Corpus Proxies but on a much larger scale.  Each one possessed a great ship, and each of those who had returned from the void had fought against them, and their toys. With time, the Sentients fell into decline. The Orokin had finally won. With several years of peace,  the Tenno as they were called grew impatient, irritable.  That which they trained with for so long was no longer being put to use. They were told their sole purpose was to bring about balance. There was no balance. The Orokin controlled everything, and so… The Tenno turned against their former allies, killing them in cold blood.  Their great golden cities ran red with Orokin blood.
With nothing left to fight, the Tenno went about a project. They cloned themselves, while preserving their original bodies. Each Prime was sent in an unknown location in the void, accompanied by fellow cloned Tenno of varying types. Other clones were put into stasis to await a time when another series of civilizations would rise and require their presence.  The Lotus was a Sentient who had remained hidden, using an old moniker that was popular in the past. Lotus was once a Black Market Organization on Earth ages before the war and Orokin era. The Orokin had fancied that design and the memory of that organization and used it for everything.

By taking up that alias, she appeared like a friend to the Tenno, perhaps a small vestige of their memory remained that gave them a bit of trust in her, because it was familiar to them. But who is to say who is in the wrong? Is the Lotus evil, because she and her kind fought a war against those who were once their allies? Or because she keeps the truth away and wipes the memory of those who she forcefully awakens?

Because character limits are gay.

Here's the rest of the description and the music list for the scenes in Sacreia's chapter:

This is a standalone chapter from my upcoming book, Nihilos Draconum: Rise of a Warrior. It is meant to be a preview of my writing style, and as a means of gaining interest in the book before it is published. As well as gaining a fan base beforehand. The chapter starts off slow, and since this part isn't explained and has a habit of confusing people. The events transpiring in the chapter are being viewed from a Crystal Ball. It entails the life of one of the more important characters in the would be series, Sacreia Valen. It starts off slow, as it begins with her mother and a little history of the elves. It goes down to how Sacreia was conceived, and what was the result of her birth.

Being born a half red dragon half elf caused her mother's exile and eventual decline. Aneia(Her mother) was capture by humans and became a sex slave to them for 12 years. All the while Sacreia had to watch as they violated her mother. For years she did not know what they were doing to her, she only knew they were hurting her. The humans who enslaved them were not very accepting of Sacreia, referring to her as a child with demon eyes. For those almond shaped eyes would stare up at them with a fierce luminosity, one that spelled a hatred so strong it made them shiver.

Aneia eventually takes her own life, as she was unable to live with her every day torture. In turn, she leaves her daughter with parting words. To be free, and live the life she could not. Sacreia did not know the concept of death, and as her mother's still cooling body lay trembling in her death throes, Sacreia understood. Her personality splits, and it is here her life changes. Sacreia's personalities were opposite of one another. One who craved love, family, and friendship. The other a misanthropic, homicidal, and vengeful entity hellbent on destroying humanity. All those she gets close to either die, or leave her. She has not known any real happiness in her life, for hers is one filled with despair, rage, loneliness, betrayal and unrequited love.

After a time, she becomes known as The Crimson Whirlwind, a mass murderer who leaves naught in her wake but the unrecognizable remains of her victims. For she travels the lands far and wide simply to slaughter every human city and village she can find. If the world will not accept her for what she is, she will create a new world by force. Sacreia's character has inspirations from the character Lucy/Kaede from the Elfen Lied anime, as such some specific scenes in the chapter are similar. The character takes a lot from myself, as do several of my other characters. This makes her more easy to relate to, and in turn makes her feel more... "human".  The chapter itself is filled with sadness, gore, extreme violence, and the one thing I wrote most: action packed battles. The battles in the books follow "anime physics". What does this mean? It simply means that protagonists are able to be hit by overly powerful attacks and not explode on impact which would happen in reality. Instead, they're sent flying while taking damage. Whereas other characters(Side characters, things meant to die) would follow real world physics where they'd die/explode in a single blow from something stupidly powerful. Imagine being crushed/stomped on by a 80 foot tall dragon. Wouldn't you be crushed into paste? Not protagonists!

My writing is meant to make you think, as I don't throw everything at you. Things are hinted at, and meant to be perceived. If you fail to pay attention to something, you will be lost later on. Such as learning Sacreia's true name in the chapter, and a certain connection she has with a specific character. Almost every scene has a song attached to it, to add a bit of "life" to it. Below, I shall add a few songs for specific scenes.

The beginning, everything Aneia up until she meets a certain man and is brought further into the forest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyxxiAYvdNs

When Aneia is stuck with said man in the forest, and the scene when Sacreia finally meets said man later on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IwRkFyUu60

When Sacreia enters the Void(The area covered in darkness) and when she tortures/kills her first human: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwtWSNXStEc or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxuUAJ1OSms (I used the Elfen Lied one)

When she first meets Ryu, and every scene for their childhood: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWW8DMpfI9U (Or any variation of it)

When Sacreia goes to save a Nerokois girl from slavers, and in general when she kills people in large quantities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFRCdfIGVvg

Sacreia's battle against Bounty Hunter Eilara: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_W_VST7pypA

The Mt Gotora Scene where Sacreia sits atop a snowy cliff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLFg30ACkY0

Sacreia's battle against her father(Phase 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7Hikaj8ub0 (Phase 2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71aDQ3go96M

Sacreia's battle against the one she loves most:(Phase 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4PABl-OUKg (Can also be used for the scene after their battle has concluded. This was used for Ryu's version of the battle in the previous chapter. Both chapters have the same fight, but from different perspectives.) or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-2CENbg61w (Which I originally used) (Phase 2-3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBb0HfSSlcE

For the scene after the battle with the one she loves most has concluded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF8I-nc5Hog or the song mentioned above.

There you have it, a pseudo list of all songs I used in the making of that chapter. I hope you enjoy.

A short.

I may be writing a small draft of the prequel story set 500,000 years prior to the book series' plot which delves into the history of two specific gods. Who weren't really true gods at all. Of course, I won't actually be finishing the draft itself; since I intend to finish it once the series has been concluded. By that time people should/will be confused about the characters that appear in the series who were present in the prequel. It will also shed some light of how the plot is basically a tragic tale of two lovers who could never be together. Instead, they die and are reborn over and over. An eternity of strife between each other, where at the end they must kill one another. Only to be reborn again and begin the cycle anew.

Here's a hint though:

Sacreia has raven black hair here, and no longer possesses her half breed markings. That's about as much as hint I'll give.

Hmm..

Well, that's it for the character origins. I did all the main cast. All that's left is the villains. Which are the Wyrmlords and Wyrmqueens(Dragon clan leaders). But to go into their background would show too many spoilers, and as much as I love to show people spoilers... This time I won't.

In other news, I intend to buy the rights to a song from Soul Sacrifice to use at some point. What song, you may ask? This one:

Why? Once I played this game, I was inspired by its music, as such this one song reminded me of the battle between Ryu and Sacreia(From Ryu's POV) and the end of her chapter. Music makes things all the better, it helps a scene come to life. I'll even show a bit of that scene now:

Hopping off of him, she sighed sharply and looked up towards his bloodied corpse. Her eyes widened for a moment as Ryu applauded and began to approach. “Here I thought you were going to lose and I had to come in and save you.” He joked. Sacreia began to clench the sides of her head and scream loudly, almost inhumanely. Reddish black ichor began to spew from her mouth covering her entire body reforming her exoskeleton and healing her wounds entirely. It had changed entirely, spikes rose from her shoulders making thick ridges around her collar bone. Small spikes ran up her clawed fingers and toes, much like his own exoskeleton. It seeped up towards her face and finally to the sides of her head, where two horns were formed protruding forwards where they curved quite high. A row of smaller yet more prominent horns appeared upon her forehead like a crown. She had resembled a Wyrmqueen. The screaming stopped and her head lowered, black smoke billowing out from her nostrils.

Slowly she turned towards him and motioned a hand to him to approach her. “Come here for a moment... I have something I want to tell you!” she exclaimed. Ryu approached her curiously, and as she outstretched her hand her sword manifested itself and pierced Ryu's abdomen. His eyes widened in shock as he took several steps back pulling the blade from his body. The others looked at her in surprise wondering why she had suddenly attacked him of all people. “I need you to die, so this body will finally be mine!” she roared.

“What the hell has gotten into you, woman!? Is this about earlier!?” Ryu yelled, yet Sacreia merely smiled and shook her head. “She is no longer here. Only I, Nelai remain. You are the only thing that stands between me and total possession of her body. And for good measure...” She turned to face the other two, her right hand outstretched as she fired two flaming lances towards them which pierced into their bodies sending them outside of the stronghold and pinned them to the sand outside. “There, now they will not interfere. Can you truly bring yourself to kill her...? One whom you've cared for...? Loved...?” she said, as several new markings began to etch themselves upon her face, the same that Ratheran himself had.

Ryu quickly unsheathed Dresera, and Sacreia manifested her other weapon. They lunged towards one another exchanging several blows, their weapons smashing against one another in a brilliant display of sparks.  With each clash of their weapons, a bright blinding flash of energy would burst between them. Within that light… He began to recollect his memories of his time with her. He could see her smiling up at him. Even the day he presented the wristlet came to his mind, the joy that was ever present within her eyes. Ryu’s movements had begun to grow sluggish, Sacreia stared upon him confusedly, wondering why he wasn’t putting up as much fight as he should.

Once more their weapons clashed, and another brilliant burst of energy sparked between them. His eyes widened, and he could see the cliff, when she had confessed her love for him. The feeling of when she had first kissed him graced his lips once more, it had become  heart wrenching. Even the  image of the rose still on her hair was beginning to eat away at him Why was he fighting her, why did such a fate befall her? All this time, he had never known that he had loved her. But now she stands before him, a monster corrupted by her own hatred, possessed by her Dragon Soul just as he had been when he killed Ganyu.

Ryu rushed at her with an overhead crushing blow, slamming the face of his massive sword upon her. Sacreia parried barely blocking the blow and pushing him upwards, her hands trembling beneath his strength. Their weapons were locked upon one another, a contest strength now took place as they began to try and overpower one another. “Why did you abandon me!? I waited for you... All those years! Was I nothing to you this whole time!?” she cried out. Ryu knew this was not her, Nelai was trying to weaken his resolve. But if it was her... He had to try and reach out to her in the same manner Yoli did to him. “I didn't abandon you by choice! You weren't there when I returned! It isn't my fault!” Ryu grit his teeth pushing as much strength as possible into trying to push her back, Sacreia did the same, the glow in her eyes growing more intense by the second.

“Liar! You forgot about me the moment you met that Nerokois harlot!” she roared as Ryu managed to finally overpower her, forcing her to the ground where he slammed his great sword down upon her.

Those horns by the way? They're not the average Wyrmqueen horns. In fact, there's only one other character that has the horns Sacreia had there.

This was done by a friend. As was several other artwork for my book. Who is she? Her name is Serya, AKA Tiamat; Draconic Goddess of Twilight. Both Sacreia and Serya have a very deep connection to one another. One that is only hinted at. The fact they possess the same horns, and that in Sacreia's chapter, she recollects memories that are not her own, but Serya's.  What ever could that mean?

Origin of Kai

Haven't posted in a while. But that was simply because I had things I had to play. Had to torment others in Dark Souls. Anyway, now to Kai's Origin.

Kai's personality is based off my best friend, whom I've known over 10 or so years. I met him on FFXI and we've been pals ever since. Kai is more of a comic relief character, his overall view of life, his womanizing ways and straight down to his appearance. As he has an exaggerated pompadour, black leather jacket/pants and a white under shirt. Despite Kai being a womanizer and hitting on every woman in the cast; he has his eyes set on just one character. This one being Miyuki. Miyuki; like the rest of the female cast, does  not like him in the slightest. He is the only half dragon in the book who does not use his exoskeleton, and instead uses clothes. It is also not mentioned what his dragon parent was, or hinted at. Considering that his weapons are dual elements, it'll just leave you guessing.

Yet behind that bit of humor, he is a man that wants long lasting friendship and companionship. Like myself; he uses humor when he's nervous or feels anxious. Whereas the rest of his personality derives from my friend(As much as he denies it). Kai represents Friendship and Pride.

Oh, and that donation button up there? That's in the off chance someone is nice enough to donate to my self publishing fund. As you know, that shit's expensive.
